NANOVATION
TECHNOLOGIES
Nanovation Technologies (NT) provides high technology products based on
integrated wafer designs. Its core business is high speed switching integrated
circuits, used in the telecommunication field mostly.
Its market is the telecommunication industry, and its potential customers
are the Fortune 500's tech companies. They were looking for a high tech
feel to our logo with some variants for specific purposes. IE. Black and
white version, vector based for scaling, bit mapped for web, banners,
etc
THE CHALLENGE
The main requirements to take into account were:
-
Target: Corporate telecommunications market
- Image
to convey: Sophisticated - Contemporary - Futurist
FIRST LOGO CONCEPTS
After briefing NT's requirements, designers started working on possible
logo concepts. They soon later delivered this sequence of concepts:
Initial concept #1

Initial concept #2

Initial concept #3

Initial concept #4

Initial concept #5

CUSTOMER'S COMMENTS
He was very pleased with the initial concept #3, and suggested some modifications:
- Text size and positioning
- Symbol positioning
- Add something over the text or under of your choice to "spice"
it up.
REVISION STAGE I
After receiving the customer's feedback, it began to be clear which design
patterns were preferred so it was a matter of getting deeper in them:
Revision #1

Revision #2

Revision #3

Revision #4

Revision #5

CUSTOMER'S COMMENTS
"We have a winner. I like option 4 for my logo."
FINAL COMMENTS
In this case, "the winner" came up from the very beginning of
the design process. It often happens, but not always. A good design
is the result of the designer's creativity and customer's capability to
communicate his needs. Our design process' goal is to help them mingle
to generate a distinctive design.
